The Midwest Forest Farming Coalition
A partnership of farmers, landowners, researchers, and other organizations with the shared goal of promoting the establishment and growth of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) and producers in the Midwest.
Mentorship and Training
Peer-to-peer mentorship with established forest farmers is a valuable way to gain knowledge and learn new skills. The MWFFC can connect you with one of the established forest farming mentors within our network.
Technical Assistance
Conservation-based forest management funding available through the Natural Resource Conservation Service and other sources is often compatible with forest farming. The MWFFC can connect you with a technical service provider to assist in applying for cost-share programs and other types of available funds.

Outreach and Education
The MWFFC creates opportunities for outreach and education through a combination of on-farm workshops, online events, conferences, and through the distribution of educational material such as fact sheets and guides.
Research
Forest farming is interdisciplinary, bringing together aspects of ecology, horticulture, economics, and social science. MWFFC research partners are engaged in applied research at the Lincoln University’s Busby Farm and across Missouri through a network of participating farmers/landowners.
